René Koelman is the founder of Burgundian Lifestyle. More than twenty years ago he worked in Paris. There he sold Dutch cheese and bought the foreign cheese for the Dutch market. When the Dutch cheeses were delivered, René came into contact with the French affineurs and was allowed to look in their cellars. What struck him was that everyone had their own way of flavoring the cheese. His blood began to flow faster and ideas piled up. Refining cheese to the taste of the Dutch or the culinary bon vivant, that is what René wanted to do. In the shop and cellar of his first branch in Beverwijk, he was able to indulge himself for years to flavor and perfect cheeses. For example, the cheeses are thoroughly inspected, sometimes directly washed or brushed, and carefully stored in the correct refining chamber.

Three entrepreneurs with a passion for wine have joined forces to make Dutch wine more widely accessible to the public: through the catering industry, companies and individuals, both online and through a shop. The name bob is the Dutch name for home-grown wine from certain areas. French wines, for example, are characterized by terms such as AOP, Italian wines such as DOC (G) and for Spain it is DO (Ca). The Dutch term for this is, among other things, Protected Designation of Origin, bob. To obtain a bob designation, the wine comes from a particular area classified for viticulture and all grapes (100%) from which the wine is made are from that geographical area.
